Mr. Upali Jayasekara is an award-winning Entrepreneur, Consultant, Motivational Speaker, Social Activist, and a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of professional experience across Accounting, Auditing, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Production Management, Human Resource Management, Corporate Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Renewable Energy.
He is widely recognized for his expertise in reviving underperforming businesses, mergers & acquisitions, innovation, tax administration, and corporate consultancy. His leadership combines financial discipline with strategic vision, enabling sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
As the current Chairman and Managing Director of Mega Heaters Group, Mr. Jayasekara played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a declining operation into a market-leading manufacturer with three state-of-the-art production facilities. His direction has strengthened the company's innovation capability, operational excellence, and customer-focused culture.
Prior to joining the family business, he began his career at the Auditor General's Department as an Audit Examiner, followed by experience at Arthur Andersen (Sri Lanka). He later served as an Accountant at the Confifi Group and advanced his career at Tokyo Cement, where he rose from Chief Accountant to Finance Manager — building a strong foundation in corporate finance and industrial management.
